Will Salman Khan’s Tubelight Beat His Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan At The Box-Office?
Salman Khan's Tubelight will hit theatres in a couple of hours. It's a big-budget film and considering that it's Salman's first release this year, all eyes are on Tubelight.

Tubelight is one of the most talked-about releases this year and there is plenty to look forward to, be it Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo or Salman and Sohail Khan’s adorable onscreen bhaichara.

Tubelight is the second biggest Indian release, when it comes to the number of screens. With 5500 screens, the film ranks second to just Baahubali 2, which released in 6500 screens.

Tubelight will open in 4350 screens in India and 1200 screens outside the country. It will release in 5500 screens worldwide, but won't release in Pakistan.

The million dollar question is- Will Salman break the records set by his previous releases, Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Tubelight?

We spoke to trade experts to gauge the mood.

Gaiety-Galaxy and Maratha Mandir owner Manoj Desai, whose theatres run house-full shows every time a Salman Khan film releases, says: “Salman's film's have never had a bad opening. But the advance booking of Tubelight hasn't been that great but the ticket sales are sure to go up on Eid which falls on."

Trade expert Amod Mehra too confirms that Tubelight has scored lower than Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, when it comes to advance booking.

"Advance bookings are not great. They are even lesser than Jai Ho (2014). So nothing can be predicted of Tubelight," says Mehra.

But Delhi-based film distributor Sanjay Ghai says that Salman Khan’s fans will come to Tubelight’s rescue.  "Tubelight is not a typical Salman Khan film. So if it is liked by the fans, the movie will work really well,” maintains the distributor.

PVR Juhu owner, Ravi Sibal gave us a figure.

“Tubelight would have a massive opening. It could end up with a collection of about 200-250 Crore," he says.

At the end of the day, it is a Salman Khan film and Bhai’s fans are sure to throng the theatres.
